Imagination is more important than Knowledge [P2]

street-art-5Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because Fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn’t.” Mark Twain

This blog post is the second part of my “Imagination is more important than knowledge [P1]” essay, and I’m writing it as a continuation of my thoughts expressed in the first part, where I started an inspirational journey into the land of imagination. The purpose of this series of writings about imagination is to try to inspire others by sharing what I’m imagining and what I understand through all my senses as a consequence of what I “see”. Writing my thoughts here, also helps me centralise the most important points I know on the subject and allows me to understand more. Last but not least, as I stated in [P1], I’m making use of my imagination ability in my pursuit for understanding the truth about humanity’s apparent lack of…humanity. However, before we can fully embark on such a proper imagination journey, each one of us would first need to define what is real and what is fiction in our lives. This is a subjective and very personal decision to draw a conscious line between what we accept as reality and what we understand as fiction (i.e. if you click on the bunny in the attached picture, the hyperlink will take to a Wonderland website with some amazing 3D street art which will give you an idea of what I mean 🙂 ).

In the following paragraphs I will suggest an imagination game which should help us start this journey and unleash our imagination into a new dimension. So if you’re ready to start this game with me, I suggest you find a comfortable place to relax your mind (without falling asleep!), then take a few slow but deep breaths until we put all our worries aside, and then with our eyes closed and our minds open, we should try to imagine ourselves as One person manifested in two beings:

  • One physical: our actual body which is now passive and relaxing with the eyes closed and the senses focused within;
  • One imaginary: a mirror reflection of us – an imaginary identical projection of ourselves as a body of energy (or sun light, electricity, whatever you prefer).

astraldreamsOnce you achieve this trick of “duplicating” yourself in an imaginary projection, then using your imaginary self, scan through your real mind and try to categorise the knowledge stored in our physical brain. Don’t worry if you find too much chaos in your mind, this is part of being human. Since we’re not computers or Turing machines, mind chaos is perfectly normal (until you learn meditation and other tricks which helps us focus). However, in this exercise don’t hide anything from yourself. Give your imaginary self full access to your actual thoughts, beliefs and feelings, because nobody else will know what you will find inside your head. The exercise is meant to stimulate our visualisation skills, our critical thinking, our cognitive abilities and our imagination skills, among a few other things. Therefore if you want to play this imaginary game with me, please leave all your fears behind you, close your eyes, imagine yourself in the most comfortable, happy and safe place you can think of, and then imagine yourself with unlimited power over you.

From this out-of-the-box, out-of-our-body perspective, we should try to understand if the data and information we accumulated in our life to date (and which we may consider true and real), is actually real/factual or not. To learn the filtering method, let’s start with something simple like the first time you learnt about Santa or the Easter Bunny (or whatever other celebratory symbol you have in your culture). Remember how you were absolutely convinced he/it/they are real and how you believed in that reality with all your heart & mind for a number of min/hrs/days/wks/months/years? OK, so hold that memory info and that beautiful feeling in one hand and keep it there as we’ll need it for comparison soon. Skip forward to the time when you found out the truth, and take that new memory info and what you felt then, and hold it in your other hand. Now return to the present moment and assess what you hold in your hands with your present mind. Knowing what you know today, ask yourself if you prefer your current timeline where you found out the truth about X event, or would you prefer to have never ever found out the truth in the first place? Bear in mind that nobody else needs to know this answer, just you. But write it down or make note of it somewhere because this process of timeline comparisons between possibilities & choices will help you find out if you prefer a dominant fictional life or a dominant real one. Its a personal choice, kinda like the one Neo made in the movie Matrix:

Its important that you don’t ask anyone else to do this reality assessment for you or to chose for you. And no, I’m not talking about the Matrix, that’s just an accurate analogy for my point. This choice is a personal experience and each one of us must have the courage to mirror ourselves and choose between truth and lies, between wanting to see the real reality or wanting to believe in a constructed reality presented to us because it keeps us happy/sad/powerful/powerless/confused/etc, or because we don’t find the time to pursue the truth and its just easier if we accept the given convention.. Again by analogy, this difference is comparable with A)believing in Santa because we choose to use a lovely custom to celebrate happiness, and B)believing in Santa because we “know” he exists since we (or someone else) disregarded all the evidence against this belief or we never caught one of our dear ones dressed in a red&white suit..

evolutionNow imagine living in a reality where you don’t know the truth, and the lie you do know as reality, doesn’t make you happy like in the Santa story. The lie you know as reality, reduces you and all your capacities to under 10% of what/who you really are and this process of reduction starts from the first year of your life in that reality. Like that’s not enough, such a reality makes us humans a..”name-of-category-goes-here” (see Categorization of people) for the rest of our lives. While categorisation is definitely not a bad thing, the use of it to control population by dividing it, is unspeakably unethical. The rule to “divide and conquer” has been successfully applied since ancient times and I want to highlight here that it is also being applied today to systematically frighten people and make individuals obedient, unhappy, depressed, controllable etc., but leave enough elements of joy and happiness scattered around the world, to fuel us and keep us going. Imagine this reality and now compare it with the world at global national scale and global scale..

In my personal experience, I conclude that the ability to discern fact from fiction is coming from within us, not from information sources outside us (i.e. “what does your gut tell you?” VS “what does it say on TV/Internet/news/book/etc”). I think that at intellectual level we already have powerful abilities like critical thinking and cognition, to help us discern fact from fiction, we just need to activate them and use them every day.. And beyond the material body at a soul/energy level, I feel that we have our consciousness, which is an entity very difficult to access and communicate with, given our current education and state of mind. However that shouldn’t stop of from trying because the awakening of our consciousness may be one of the ways towards wisdom, enlightenment and evolution..

truth oscar wildeNow in order to draw a fair line between facts and fiction, in the first part [P1], I highlighted a few filters for our senses which are used (with/out our desire or control) to process external information before they reach our senses. Let’s call this first set of external filters “senses-filters” and continue below with the description of a few other categories of reality-filters. I must state that it is my intention to freely share here and in person what I imagined and concluded in regards to this controversial subject of reality and I encourage you to do the same after your imaginary trip. However, I can only disclose a small amount in these few paragraphs, but if you share my curiosity and desire to understand more, please join me in an imagination game and see for yourself! (but do be patient as it will take a while..)

food for thought

As I previously stated, my writing is focused on understanding the truth about humanity’s apparent lack of…humanity. Why, you may ask? Well all my studies to date on the nature of humans and humanity, directly contradict our human history and our actions in the present time. Humanity is born moral and good but our actions turn up to be full of ignorance, inequality, greed, vanity, hatred, mass murders, genocides and many many other atrocities I won’t dare to link to. So up until recently I couldn’t even grasp how such a highly evolved species like humanity can go against Nature and its own DNA (which is encoded with morality and balance by the way)..and how over the course of a few years, transform a moral and balanced human being into the trigger for the most awful atrocities against Nature and against its own species…By analogy, what we’re doing (especially now) is like forcing the next generation of all flying insects in this world to stop using their wings, to go against their nature and crawl – which inevitably will lead to them killing eachother. I’m sure everyone can imagine the outcome of such an event and the impact at global scale where within a few months all biolife will shortly die and humans will only have a few years to live at most. Analogy aside, I believe it is paramount that we all become aware of the existence of unethical information filters in our lives so we can unlock our minds, awaken our true potential and start removing the “infection” with cancerous cells which are making us kill eachother and the planet body which gave life to us.

After watching the video “What have we become?“, I can’t help but think that if we don’t wake up and start seeing again that we are all One, we will end up like the insects in my moden lifeanalogy above..We have the wings but we don’t have the education to empower us to use them. We lack the ethical knowledge on how rise up and understand the end-to-end, the “big-picture. And since we don’t know how to use our wings anymore (our extraordinarily abilities), we inevitably end up doing what any other low-level frighten and powerless species will do: kill each other in the fight for material illusions (see attached picture..).

Therefore as counter-intuitively as this sounds, I think we need to wake up by using our inner abilities like Imagination, not our “outer” ones like Logic and more information.  However, before we do that, we first need to realise that we may live in a purposefully-constructed fictional panopticon and in order to ‘wake up’ to the real reality, we need to actively start sorting out all the information we receive & pass on. Following up from [P1], my two suggested categories for all the information which reaches our senses are: 1. true & factual information (Facts experienced first hand like dipping your toes in the ocean water) and 2. potentially/possibly true information = to be considered fictional until proven otherwise (ALL information received from all 2nd and 3rd parties, including what you’re reading now).  This differentiation may sound like common sense, but it actually isn’t, because if we’d all do this actively, then we wouldn’t be in the chaos we are now. Please allow me to explain..Or better still, allow me to attach below a 5min video made by the documentary film maker Adam Curtis who presents us a helicopter view of the utter chaos in our information sources today, which makes it virtually impossible for us to discern facts and reality from lies and fiction:

After watching Adam Curtis’s video (a few times), I am hoping that we are one step closer to the clear sky and we’re not going deeper into the lies and fiction presented to us on a daily (and nightly) basis as facts and truth.. So if you fantasy vs realitythink we’re ready to start the brave task of trying to discern facts from fiction in our information sources, then we must start with the awareness of our society’s informational filters and the processes involved in delivering “facts” to us humans. It is absolutely paramount that we keep in mind at all times that the concept of “fact” in our society may be artificially manufactured (at local and global scale), and I conclude that a large quantity of the data-information presented to us as facts, is actually very heavily filtered to create the perception of truthful fact.  Since a falsity/lie can also be covertly achieved through the use of a truthful, but unimportant, fact/event as a distraction from another truthful, but very important, fact/event, we also need to keep in mind that an apparent conflict between two facts doesn’t imply that one is false. (i.e. a magician’s act relies on diversion of attention from the real, and on the illusion of real – which is achieved through truthful distractions and some technology. Same as in our reality..). By letting my imagination wonder, I started seeing that in my real life I am not given free access to important facts because we are presented with truly insignificant factual distractions (put perceptively significant) and this is called mass-manipulation. So when we encounter such apparent conflicts between facts (of different rank), we need to use our investigative curiosity and critical thinking skills to understand the impact and the inter-connections, before, after and between each factual event (in time and space), so we can assess them appropriately ourselves and not rely on someone else’s assessment. If we start making use of our own abilities and stop relying on other people to think for us, we will hopefully manage to distinguish reality and facts from filtered facts and fiction.

Now let’s do another counter intuitive thing in our pursuit for truth and let’s follow the rabbit in Wonderland to see if it will lead us to any truth. Let us therefore imagine...that we, the humans, are not born the way we behave in this world. Let’s imagine that we are born genuinely good, and at our birth, we receive some extraordinary gifts from our parents, from Nature and from the Creator of this Universe. Therefore let us imagine that the dearest, the absolute most important (and utterly priceless) “things” that a human being can ever possess in a lifetime are:

  • 1. Our Intellect. One’s Mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions.”
    • conscience-and-intellectOur Intellect is the “Processor” required in this world to storing and understand thoughts, emotions, in/out communication on multiple frequencies, and based on the understanding gained through various communications, our Intellect is enabling the bridge between the Observable/Material Universe and other frequencies in the Real Universe (i.e.: The matter we are familiar with is only 4% of what’s actually out there in the Real Universe and we currently only have access to an infinitely small nano fraction of that 4% which is our Observable Universe in SpaceTime);
    • “Nothing in life is to be feared, it is only to be understood. Now is the time to understand more, so that we may fear less.” Marie Curie.
  • 2. Our Light. “Whatever you are physically…male or female, strong or weak, ill or healthy–all those things matter less than what your heart contains. If you have the soul of a warrior, you are a warrior. All those other things, they are the glass that contains the lamp, but you are the light inside.” Cassandra Clare
    • consciousnessOur Soul is our “true heart” which I believe is an entity distinct from our Spirit which in turn is part of the Creating Energy that powers the Soul and other types of Life in this Universe);
    • The success or failure of your deeds, does not add up to the sum of your life. Your spirit cannot be weighed. Judge yourself by the intentions of your actions, and by the strength with which you faced the challenges that have stood in your way. The Universe is vast and we are so small. There is really only one thing we can ever truly control… whether we are good or evil.Oma Desala
  • 3. Our Body. “Mens sana in Corpore sano
    • Our Body, the “biomechanical machine” we are in charge of, is a free gift we all receive at our birth and it is our responsibility until its core parts are beyond repair. Therefore our body is the first thing in life we should be curious about if we really want to understand the world around us by the time it reaches the end of its cycle.
    • Our bodies respect the Sacred Geometry mathematical laws as accurately as everything else created by Nature. The human body has a Sacred Proportion called the Golden Ratio which governs all the Nature on Earth and some of the most impressive architecture in human history.
    • Many of the sacred geometry principles of the human body and of ancient architecture have been compiled into the Vitruvian Man drawing by Leonardo Da Vinci, itself based on the much older writings of the roman architect Vitruvius.
    • There are countless sources online which describe Sacred Geometry in detail so if you’re curious, please do search as you will find some truly extraordinary knowledge about the building blocks of Nature. i.e.1, i.e.2,, i.e.3 (I also briefly wrote about it in my 2011 “A new beginning” post).

So what should you do with all this potentially truthful info I presented here? Whatever you choose, but if you ask me, I’d advise you to absorb it as “food for your own imagination” and let your mind do what does best: wonder!. If you exercised your Critical Thinking skills while reading my writings, then by now you should know not to use any of this information as truth because you didn’t experience it 1st hand. So if you wish to do anything at all with what you just read, then please use it as inspiration for your own imagination! 🙂

The Imagination game continues in Part 3..

Humanity is my family

“You cannot solve a problem from the same consciousness that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.” -by Albert Einstein and I have a feeling he wasn’t referring just to a maths and physics problem..

For the last 6 months I’ve been struggling to finish the drafts of 2 (hopefully inspiring) blog posts about global sustainability and economics & inequality, but the best I could do to date was share a number of short posts on my Google+, Twitter and Diaspora, write about 2000 words and accumulate a collection of about 100 links to support my points. I am completely puzzled by the fact that I couldn’t bring myself to finish writing my thoughts as I somehow got distracted by something of a cliché busy life. I  think of myself as a methodical person with structure and carefully chosen ranks in my priorities and this time I can’t really explain why and how all my “free” time was eaten up by tasks I can’t even remember now. I’m not going to go into it as its not the topic of this blog post but somehow there’s always something that seems to need to be done every day and important things like sharing with others my thoughts on my blog was outranked by other self-focused things that popped up and multiplied like bad weeds. However, while it has been on my mind a while now, today I have decided to put a stop to this nonsense after I watched Jamie Dunmore‘s video “My Call for Humanity“:

This video is so powerful that I believe it will positively change the world if people who have access to youtube watch it at least once. Jamie’s message is so clear, concise and awakening that it reminded me of my days when I had the courage to want to change the world.. If you come across my blog or the multitude of sites which mention Jamie’s video, please do watch it at least once. And for your convenience, I am attaching the transcript below. Hope you..see!

“so here I am
standing alone in the open. i’m here with a message
hoping to repair what’s broken. nature is struggling
humanity’s not on track. we’ve got our heads in the sand
and our pride intact. we seek fulfilment through wealth
but do we achieve it? we want prosperity through consumerism
but is it worth it? have we actually found freedom?
or have we lost it? because all we do is follow a system
and never really challenge it. can you relate to that?
or is the world too blind to see? i’d always seek the truth
but care what my peers thought of me. i saw a different perspective
and struggled by the hour. see i know ignorance was bliss
but knowledge could give me power. so now i call for humanity
not just for one nation. i’m opposing separation and standing up to
whether religious or atheist, in essence we’re the same
stereotypes are man-made, and it was man who created the game
but are we actually ready to accept this and wake up?
can we put our naivety on the line, or are we always going to collide?
are we ready to make a difference? do we venture into the unknown?
or do we stay in our comfort zones and keep on taking the easy ride?
because at sea
it ships that are safest at shore
but no, that’s not what ships were made for. so ask yourself this:
why are you really here? you may find that deep
but my question really is sincere. for my generation
are we mislead as a youth? do we rub off our true purpose due to false misleading truth?
are we prone to propaganda? are we prone to wrong information?
are we taught to judge each other based on religion
sex, race, culture, class, nation
the list goes on. the moral of this poem
may be hard to grasp. I know it’s not something usually heard
and it’s not your average task. but the point is to stop damaging what we cannot
we shouldn’t prioritize selfish desires, and let them decide our fate
however let me tell you, in no way am i perfect and in no way am i better than you
I mean yea i wrote this message myself, but it applies to myself to
so it’s time to start improving and it’s time to start speaking
because resources are lowering and poverty is increasing
we allow cities to get larger, buildings to get taller
but trees to get shorter and forests to get smaller
we’re an ingenious species, we could easily change everything
but we’re made to think different due to decades of conditioning
we conform to education to confirm our own security
yet it’s a biased institution that makes wisdom hold obscurity
is actually correct? and does it actually judge intelligence?
or is it just listening to our elders, and improving our obedience?
are possessions an illusion of worth? are we tricked in our thinking?
are we trying to buy wholeness and are we trying to buy meaning?
do they always give joy? do they distract us from reality?
do they determine our identity and do they alter our morality?
I mean what are our goals? this really isn’t a joke
can happiness be superficial and our routine a hoax?
do we live for the wrong things? whilst the right things choke?
is mainstream tv legit or can it dictate our attractions?
does it actually bring us together or does it separate us into factions?
we categorize each other via a social hierarchy
but status is made by humans, so who really are we?
is ego destroying eco? are the real problems disguised?
do we really know the truth or does our society feed us lies?
are we actually filling our voids? and does money hold any true weight? could we drop our
precious comforts
to renew our planet’s state? it really is time to stop living our lives in shells
because doing nothing for others, is the undoing of ourselves
we’re all from the same source, so let’s see it for what it’s worth
we only have one home and that home is planet earth
so our laws actually just? or can power avoid the prison?
are our governments really innocent or are they flawed in their decisions?
do they actually care for all life? or only for their own health?
do their motives come from morals? or do they just want power and wealth?
they try to justify a war on terror but it’s lasted for over a decade
it’s caused a million deaths so don’t you think they’ve overstayed?
is patriotism necessary? can’t we see it’s prejudicial?
have we forgotten our common grounds and have we forgotten what’s artificial?
I mean am I truthfully British? am i really European?
am i actually a western person? or am i just a human being?
see the media highlight the smallest of tragedies in first world countries
but fail to cover that over 90 million worldwide have died from hunger in 12 years
so where do our priorities lie?
Britain, China, Russia, America, France. Syria, Iran
Israel, Jordan, Iraq. whether western or middle east
everyone deserves peace. no more national wars
no more bodies deceased. let’s come together as one and
keep humanity in one piece. so are we going to be responsible?
are we going to take a stand? are we going to change our ways and play our cards on the other hand?
I’m not saying I have all the answers and I’m not forcing any suggestions
i’m just saying it’s about time we see differently and it’s about time we ask some
so what will you do? how much will you allow?
this is my call for humanity, to create a change
and the time to start, is now“.

At the end of December 2011, I wrote the following in my “A new beginning” blog post:..You see, if our world is so complexly “engineered” to be in balance, all we have to do is stop messing it up and find our inner emotional and spiritual balance, because the physical is obviously taken care of since before we came into existence and it will be taken care of long after we move on. I know its a lot easier said than done mainly due to social programming and economic interests across the globe, but if we want to live a better life, heck if want our children to even have a life, we have to do it! Do we even have a choice? This involves learning from the past, thinking about the future, building a plan that is in balance with nature and then applying it in our present continuous..

My gear list for (up to) 7000m mountain climbs

This is a follow up post to a post I’m currently writing on fulfilling one of my lifetime dreams: climbing the 9 Summits of our planet’s 7 continents. But since that post is still in draft and nowhere near completion, I decided to share my equipment list for the first 6 summits (without Everest, Vinson Massif and Denali which require considerable more resources). Oh and you might wonder why 9 summits not 7? Because I’m including both Mont Blanc and Elbrus in Europe and both summits in Australasia: Mount Kosciuszko in Australia (Bass list)  and Puncak Jaya in Indonesia (Messner list):

The financial costs involved to summit all these peaks are very significant and I’m not referring only to gear. However, since I am on a limited budget and I couldn’t afford to buy different sets of gear for each of my planned trips, I bought only 1 set divided into 4 layers. So when I’m trekking up to 5000m peaks, I’ll use 2-3 layers from it, up to 6000 I’d use 3-4 layers, and up to 7000m I’d use 4+1 where necessary. When the time comes for Antarctica and Everest, my main concern will be coming up with €35,000 for each expedition not another €3k of additional gear… Therefore if you have climbed above 5000m or you stood on top of any of the 9 summits, please do share your thoughts and experience with me as I’m only a novice mountaineer on these high summits. Sincere thanks! 🙂

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing”

Being curious by nature got me into trouble many times during the course of my short long life, but more importantly it helped me come across knowledge and experiences that made it all worth it. For example, earlier on I stumbled upon a very interesting post with no less than 50 curiosity stimulating questions and I liked it so much that instead of posting it on my Google+ stream, I started writing this blog post. (Feel free to connect with me on G+ as I sort of transformed my profile into a digital diary where I post all sorts of interesting things I find on my digital travels). 50 out of 52 questions are unedited and taken from; I just added another one at the beginning and a final one at the end. Brain Waves and their effects on our lives

Today I went off on another curiosity tangent and started researching Binaural Beats and Brain Waves as they sparked my interest yesterday when I experienced their effects by a complete fluke.  I’m gonna skip the story that caused my curiosity and just present some interesting info I gathered off the net and at the end I’ll add my own opinion and conclusions to all this.

Our brain is still a mystery to scientists so no wonder we discover new things about it every day, but because I want to keep this post as short as possible, I’ll try to summarise this in a few paragraphs.

We know that the brain’s electrical charge is maintained by billions of neurons. The neurons are continuously exchanging ions and the ions of same charge repel each other, and when many ions are pushed out of many neurons at the same time, they can push their neighbours, who push their neighbours, and so on, causing a wave. The oscillations of this wave, which can be picked up by an EEG, have characteristic frequency ranges (explained below), spatial distributions and are associated with different states of brain functioning (e.g. the various sleep stages). The neuronal networks underlying some of these oscillations are well understood, while many others are not. Research that measures both EEG and neuron spiking finds the relationship between the two as very complex.

Therefore these brain waves are all oscillating electrical voltages in the brain, but they are very tiny voltages, just a few millionths of a volt. They’ve been split into 5 different categories and each one could induce a multitude of mental states, from hyperactivity to relaxation, meditation, creativity, enhanced intellectual performance and all sorts of other desirable/surprising mental states. The frequencies found in the EEG are:

> 40 Hz Gamma waves = Higher mental activity, including perception, problem solving, fear, and consciousness. Mysterious, controversial.

13–39 Hz Beta waves = Active, busy or anxious thinking and active concentration, arousal, cognition, and or paranoia. Are seen in highly stressful situations and where there is difficult mental concentration and focus.

7–13 Hz Alpha waves = Relaxation (while awake), pre-sleep and pre-wake drowsiness, REM sleep, Dreams. Seen in wakefulness where there is a relaxed and effortless alertness. Highly beneficial. More info here

4–7 Hz Theta waves = Deep meditation/relaxation, NREM sleep. Click here for more info

< 4 Hz Delta waves = Deep dreamless sleep, loss of body awareness. Click here for more info

Each of the these types of brain waves is good for something different. However, we can get into serious trouble if we can not turn on the type of brain wave needed for the task at hand. On the other hand, people who can turn on the ideal brain waves to deal with each and every situation needed are considered highly gifted.
So how do you turn on the right ones at the right time?

As our brain is an amazing bioengineering creation (among other things), it usually turns on automatically the right brain waves for the right time, so you shouldn’t need to worry about it. But here’s the catch, if you are stressed, worried, concerned with various issues, or you find yourself at the other end of the scale where you’re lazy and don’t care about anything (=live a very unbalanced life, like most people), then the automatic process is not happening and it has undesirable consequences.

Alpha and Theta brain waves are extremely important to our health and personal growth but due to the hectic lifestyle our economic-driven society promotes and sustains, we are suppressing these brain waves with: stress, caffeine, tobacco, alcohol and various other drugs and addictions.  I don’t need to tell you these things are bad for you cos u know it, its been scientifically proven, but you gladly ignore all that because the media advertisement brainwashed everyone into believing they need to consume those industry products because of the apparent benefits (placebo effect) or because it makes you look “cool” for smoking/drinking/using/buying/having those products. (There are a few astonishing studies on manipulation and control of public perception but I’m not gonna get into that now, if interested, Google it but try to sort out the nonsense from facts)

Certain articles I read show that the suppression of Alpha waves and their replacement with Beta waves during a hectic daily lifestyle, transforms individuals into drones as they are incapable of individual and true creative “out of the box’ thought. This is very worrying and to put it simply, here is a logical example: if we are in Delta while we sleep (lets call this 1st gear) and in Beta when we’re hyper active (lets call this 4th gear), then what most people are doing is jump out of bed in the morning to get to work, go through the day stressed with deadlines and other targets they need to achieve, drink lots of coffee, energy drinks and use other various stimulants to keep them going or keep them “happy”,  then in the evening get back to bed and switch back to Delta. From a car driver’s perspective, this is like using only 1st and 4th gear all the time. Soon enough that gearbox, that engine and ultimately the car, will fall apart. In this case its us unfortunately.  I believe that we really need to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle as it will make us more of what we are, it will encourage progress due to us being truly happier, more creative, more work efficient and simply..more.

I’m continuously surprised by the amount of people who driven by financial restraints go to work like mindless drones ignoring the world around them and most important their own unhappiness. Someone once said that “if you love what you do then it’s not a job but a hobby, and you don’t have to work another day in your life while being paid for your hobby.”  Considering all of us are very good at those things we really enjoy doing, why don’t people wake up and follow their dreams? I know it’s physically hard but is so logically simple and so possible..

I personally think there are only 2 types of people in this world: those that lead and those that follow. (those that don’t care are still part of those that follow btw). Society today and our education system is so standardised that it seems to create corporate or academic soldiers instead of multi-area specialised individuals that are highly capable of multidimensional divergent thinking. This is a topic for another post but my advice to anyone reading this is to develop awareness and choose for yourself how to live your life and what makes you happy, don’t let others make those choices for you.

As we all know, our brain is an extraordinary piece of biotech therefore it can automatically deal with more things that we can imagine but like any muscle we got to train it. And we got to train it with the right tools and means in the right direction. So how can we do that? How can we make our brain generate more of those beneficial Alpha and Theta waves during any given day? Well to start with, you can always stimulate it with Binaural Beats of Alpha and Theta frequency during any of your daily activities (Amazon has a few albums on the subject, or else search with Google/Yahoo for “alpha wave audio” and take it from there).  Audio stimulation helps but only if you are willing to do what it takes to grow and leave negative habits behind you that stop your own evolution.

Basic awareness and audio stimulation on 7Hz and 10Hz during daily activities is a good start, but I think the real progress will be made by using something as simple as curiosity. If u keep asking questions about anything really, they will generate at least as many answers and some more questions to keep you busy. But you see, this simple process not only that it “trains” our brain and helps us gather more knowledge, it actually stimulates our neurones to fire multiple new inter-neuronal connections that enhance a large variety of our skills. If you’re worried about looking silly by asking something that u don’t know, have some confidence and don’t mind what people think. Whats important in the end is that you get the information you need. And remember, a question is never silly, an answer is.

I’ll end this post with a quote that always comes into my mind when I’m taking off on various adventures: “courage is not the absence of fear it is the ability to act in the presence of it.” As life itself is an adventure, I don’t think we should be afraid of it but we can’t just take it for granted either. We and everything around us are too complex to be meaningless and just meant for such simple lives don’t you think? We should explore our inner and outer worlds, find answers to our questions and then pursue more questions, as awareness is the first step towards something new, towards progress, evolution and balance. Most people are afraid of what they don’t understand and reject it from a hard-wired defence mechanism, but if we find some courage to explore our limits, it will only bring good things, and I speak from experience here I assure you. My advice to anyone reading this is to be the change you want to see in others, be an Alpha wave generator, stand out by being yourself and lead the change in the right direction; the flock will eventually wake up as well. Ah and don’t worry, curiosity never killed the cat 🙂
